ABOUT:
Alexandra Hammond is an artist working at the intersection of ecology and cartoons. Spanning painting, film, installation and interaction, her work digests received categories such as human and nature, background and foreground, individual and ecosystem, acknowledging the agency of all beings and materials in order to transform extractive capitalisms into systems that support our life world. Hammond works with the possibility of symbols, which, like the desire lineof a ribbon or the body of a snake, are the circulatory system of the earth. She is a member of Underdonk and the Beverly's Artist Board. She shows her work internationally
